Nanook has released 5 studio albums, 2 best of (for Japan & Scandinavia) and 2 live albums. Besides that there’s been several singles incl. their biggest hit; Ingerlaliinnaleqaagut. 

Even though the band sings in Greenlandic, Nanook’s songs on youtube, Spotify and other streaming services, have reached more than 5 million streams all together, and the band tours in Canada, US, Asia and the Northern countries including a performance at Roskilde Festival in Denmark – one of the biggest festivals in Europe, The Kennedy Center in US and for the Iceland Airwaves Festival they were spotted as one of the standouts at the festival including more than 200 artists. 

It’s been three tours to Japan and last year they visited Spain (Bilbao) for the first time and this year the band is invited to perform shows in Greenland, Iceland, Denmark and France. 

The Nordic Council’s description of Nanook: „Nanook is one of the biggest Greenlandic musical phenomena in recent history. They boast a highly distinctive new sound, characterised by thoughtful arrangements and exceptional instrumental skill. 

The band – Martin Zinck (drums), Andreas Otte (bass) and Mads Røn (keyboards), and brothers Frederik and Christian Elsner (guitar and vocals) – are an amazing sight as they effortlessly command even the biggest stages. Nanook has several acclaimed tours and the four beautiful albums they have released since 2009 are GOLD certified. 

The band constantly honing their sound and their instrumental abilities through consummate and energetic live performances. Right from the first note, there’s no mistaking Nanook. Their innovative sound is bold new Greenlandic music that is earning a well-deserved place on the world stage.“

Gets Gold certified for extraordinary sales. 2010 (September): Christian and Frederik Elsner are rewarded “This Year’s Price” at the Danish Copyright Society’s (KODA) annual reward show in Greenland for the album “Seqinitta Qinngorpaatit”. 2011 (June): Contributes with the tracks “Inuup Tarraa” and the exclusively produced “Ingerlaliinnaleqaagut” (“Leave with me”) for the premiering Greenlandic horror movie “Qaqqat Alanngui” (“In the shadow of the mountains”). 2011 (October): Releases the band’s second album “Ai Ai” (The sound of happiness). 2012 (November): Releases the single “Nilliasa” (“Let’s yell”) as part of an antiviolence campaign by the NGO Nanu Børn (Nanu Children) aimed at children in Greenland.2013 (June): Releases the album „Nanook“ through Mermaid  Records in  Denmark. First release outside of Greenland.
