Extreme Chill Festival 2027

February 11–13 · Reykjavík

Extreme Chill Festival returns to Reykjavík on February 11–13, 2027, for its 18th edition. Moving the festival from September to the heart of the Icelandic winter lets us embrace the unique atmosphere of Reykjavík at this extraordinary time of year. Darkness, northern lights and Iceland’s winter landscapes become part of the festival experience, creating a distinctive setting where music, video art and visual experiences come together.

Founded in 2010, Extreme Chill has grown into one of Iceland’s longest-running music festivals. It has gained international recognition and become an important part of Iceland’s music scene. With a strong focus on experimental electronic music, ambient soundscapes and unconventional sonic exploration, the festival has developed a unique identity over the years.

Throughout its history, Extreme Chill has brought together Icelandic and international artists. It has inspired numerous releases, concerts and collaborations, along with unforgettable performances in Iceland and abroad. The festival has become a meeting point for artists, audiences and creative communities, building lasting connections across borders.

This February, Extreme Chill invites you to experience Reykjavík in the depths of winter, where experimental sounds, darkness and the atmosphere of the northern city come together for three days of music and audiovisual exploration.
